Sex is an animal drive. Our animal drives are always just below the surface, and often well above. The PR and advertising industries have been using our animal drives to sway us and sell us things (including red heels) for the past hundred years.
Stiletto heels are about sex. To be more specific, they are about penetration. During sex, men usually do the penetrating. Now women can have something that penetrates, too.
However, heels cannot create new life; they can only destroy. Some women wear the sharpest stilettos they can find, and arm them with hardened steel tips or allow the plastic tips to wear down to the nails. Many women write openly that they love to feel their heels sinking into a soft floor or other yielding surface, and to see the dents and holes left behind. Stiletto heels can kill a man figuratively; many women have used them to (”accidentally”) stab a man’s foot (or other body part) literally. They’re not called “stilettos” (”little daggers”) for nothing. The power to kill and destroy, the power to create new life– two sides of the same coin, and closely linked.
The color red, of course, is the color of blood inflamed, and of passion. Red stilettos, for sex, power, and passion. It’s not rocket science.
